Making GoLexic more accessible

In 2023, GoLexic received funding from the European Union, under the Women TechEU initiative, which is part of the wider Horizon Europe funding programme. This funding has been a cornerstone in our journey. As an independent startup with a social mission in the Tech sector, it is important to highlight how critical this type of public programmes are, particularly for startups funded by women, like GoLexic. Women-funded startups receive less than 2% of all private capital invested into startups in Europe.

We wanted to take some time to look back at what the Women Women TechEU initiative helped us accomplish in the last 10 months. The funding and support it gave us was critical for us to forward with our vision to make reading intervention more accessible for all children:

Empowering Our Vision

The financial backing provided by the grant has been instrumental in overcoming the significant challenges associated with marketing. Here’s a snapshot of what we have accomplished thanks to this invaluable support:

1. Offering a freemium version of the GoLexic App

One of our major milestones has been the successful launch of a freemium version of the GoLexic app. This strategy has enabled us to:

  • Reach more families: By offering a free version, we’ve significantly broadened our reach, making advanced technology accessible to a wider audience.
  • Gather Valuable Feedback: The freemium model has provided us with critical user insights, allowing us to refine and enhance our product based on real-world usage and feedback.

2. Relaunching the GoLexic.com website

If you have noticed that things look at a bit more professional around here, it is thanks to this funding programme! We were able to:

  • Move our site to a more professional platform: The site is faster, more secure, and mobile-friendly
  • Launch the site in additional languages:  For the first time, we have a full site for our German customers!

3. Launching two Dyslexia-Test websites

In our commitment to support parents on their journey to help their child, we have also developed and launched two dyslexia-test websites. These platforms are designed to:

  • Increase Accessibility: Our websites offer easy-to-use tools that help parents identify if their child shows signs of dyslexia, promoting early intervention and support.
  • Raise Awareness: By providing free and accessible resources, we want to raise awareness about dyslexia and the importance of early detection.
  • Support Our Community: These websites are a testament to our dedication to creating solutions that address real-world challenges, particularly in the realm of education and cognitive health.

4. Better connecting with our audience and partners

The grant has not only facilitated these specific projects but also helped us build a solid foundation for future growth. We have been able to invest in critical marketing activities, such as:

  • Market Research: Conducting in-depth market analysis to better understand our target audience and refine our value proposition.
  • Digital Marketing Campaigns: Implementing targeted campaigns to drive traffic, increase engagement, and boost conversions.
  • Partnership Development: Establishing strategic partnerships to enhance our market reach and collaborative opportunities.

Onwards and upwards!

As we reflect on the past 10 months, we are filled with gratitude for the support that has enabled us to make significant strides in our journey. The grant has also reinforced our belief in the power of innovation and the importance of supporting women-led ventures in Deep Tech.

We are excited about the future and remain committed to pushing the boundaries of technology to create meaningful impact. Together, we want to build a future where technology serves as a powerful tool for positive change.
